National Board Certification in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine
Master's of Acupuncture
Acupuncture Northwest & Associates is honored to have the esteemed fertility acupuncturist, Mark Elgee, on our team.
Mark is a licensed East Asian Medicine Practitioner with over 20 years of clinical experience specializing in:
- fertility and reproductive health
- pain relief and injury recovery
- anxiety and depression
- trauma (PTSD)
- addiction recovery support
- nervous system regulation.
He is a former Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (FABORM), reflecting advanced training in integrative, evidence-informed fertility care. These skills and protocols extend beyond traditional Chinese medicine and integrate perspectives from multiple branches of medicine. While fertility support is a central focus of his work, Mark’s approach also emphasizes whole-person health and mind–body balance.
Mark's Mission
Mark’s mission is to understand the deeper patterns shaping physical, emotional, and reproductive health. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, he looks for the underlying signals—the ways the body adapts to stress, injury, and imbalance over time. His work supports nervous system regulation, which can play an important role in resilience, emotional stability, and overall reproductive wellness. Patients are never rushed, and their history is honored. Mark’s goal is to support each person’s capacity to restore balance—physically, emotionally, and energetically—so healing can occur in a deep and sustainable way.
His History as a Fertility Expert
For over two decades, Mark was the owner and director of Seattle Acupuncture & Fertility Center in downtown Seattle, where he built a highly respected practice supporting patients through fertility challenges, pregnancy preparation, hormonal regulation, stress-related conditions, and complex chronic health concerns.
Mark's Other Specialities
Mark also has extensive experience working with acute and chronic pain conditions, sports injuries, and injury recovery. As a former college athlete, he brings both personal and clinical insight into pain management and rehabilitation, helping patients return to movement, function, and resilience through acupuncture, hands-on therapies, and nervous system-based care. Acupuncture is widely used for pain relief and injury recovery because it works on multiple levels at once—neurological, biochemical, circulatory, and connective tissue–based. Rather than simply “masking” pain, acupuncture may help modulate pain perception, support circulation, reduce stress patterns, and assist the body’s natural recovery processes, which is why it is often sought when other approaches have fallen short.
Who is Mark?
Before entering the medical field, Mark spent a decade as a professional international tour guide and traveled extensively throughout China, Japan, and Southeast Asia, in addition to guiding throughout Alaska and the Canadian Rockies. Experiencing the culture and history where East Asian medicine originated became a life-changing influence and helped shape the path that later became his profession.
Mark’s treatment style is thorough, collaborative, and patient-centered. His care may include acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, hands-on therapies, craniosacral therapy, movement guidance, mindfulness practices, and nutritional support.
Outside of his clinical work, Mark enjoys cooking, spending time with family and friends, live music, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and long beach walks with his dog.
