National Infertility Awareness Week

Ribbon

As we approach NIAW (National Infertility Awareness Week – April 23-29), I want to offer hope. Infertility can feel so hopeless but often it is not. It often feels that way, from month to month but persistence has shown to be one of the most important factors for overcoming infertility. Because infertility can be so devastating and overwhelming I find that hope is one of the most precious things I can offer a fertility patient. And when I offer hope, I mean it. I mean it because I know the statistics are better when you stick with it and hope because as you get healthier with Chinese medicine your odds go up as well.

Chinese medicine isn’t just about acupuncture and Chinese herbs, it is lifestyle medicine. How you live affects your health and these are aspects of your health we can work on. And it’s good to have a cheerleader when you begin making these healthier choices because change can be hard. But when you begin feeling better, having more energy and hopefully getting pregnant, it all becomes worth it. And I love to be around for that part to!

Infertility is so common and the struggles shared by many. If you have a story to tell, feel free to send it to me and we can post it (with or without your name), to give hope or at least to let people know that they aren’t alone.

Let’s shine a light on infertility this and support those struggling during this week and every week.
