National Infertility Awareness Week 2010

NIAW

National Infertility Awareness Week® (NIAW) is a movement to raise awareness about how the disease of infertility impacts 7.3 million Americans.  The theme, “Take Charge,” means so many things to those of us who have travelled this journey.  RESOLVE’s volunteers, professional members, and corporate partners are coming together this week to spread information and host events – all in an effort to ensure that everyone has access to the resources they need.

RESOLVE has put together easy ways for you and your family and friends to join the movement. Check it out, there’s sure to be something there to help you take charge of your family building journey.

Take Charge—Know Sooner
First Response®, a National Infertility Awareness Week partner, is bringing the experts to you to answer your questions about your reproductive health, including Barbara Collura, RESOLVE’s executive director.

Educational Events
RESOLVE’s volunteers are busy every night this week (except for Friday) providing free RESOLVE TeleSeminars with some of the nation’s top experts.  Every night (except for Friday) is a different topic.  There are also live events happening all over the country, thanks to our volunteers and committed professional members.

Action on Capitol Hill
RESOLVE, in cooperation with Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, is hosting a briefing about infertility and how the federal government plans to address this public health issue now and in the future.

Bloggers Unite
In partnerships with the 2009 Hope Award for Best Blog winner, Melissa Ford, RESOLVE and www.stirrup-queens.com have teamed up to bring you Bloggers Unite: “What IF”.  Bloggers in the adoption/loss/infertility (ALI) space are coming together to share with the world their biggest “What IF” about infertility.  It started with RESOLVE and Melissa asking her readers to leave their “What IF” on her blog.  More than 500 “What Ifs” later, we are on our way to the first-ever infertility awareness Bloggers Unite program.  Read these powerful blogs here.
Do you “tweet”?  If so, join RESOLVE and thousands of “Tweeters” TODAY, April 26th as we try to make #infertility a trending topic on Twitter. We want to make sure that the public knows that women and men with infertility have a strong voice and that our stories and our disease need attention.
